Our Boarding Structure

At Maple View Stables we offer a unique hybrid approach to boarding horses. We believe that most horses thrive best with the maximum amount of turn-out that mother nature will permit without compromising the integrity of the paddocks. We provide indoor board for 6 months of the year and outdoor board the other 6 months of the year. It is based upon seasonal weather patterns and the presence of biting insects during the summer months. We also put the horses out at night during June and July and therefore are in during the day. "Why is outdoor life, and outdoor boarding, so important for equines? Horses evolved, Gustafson explained, to eat for about two-thirds of the day. When fed infrequently, they are prone to ulcers, colic and other digestive problems. They are also very social animals who need to interact with other horses. As well, they are designed to be on the move most of the time, so being forced to stand still in a stall is stressful."

“The more the horse’s needs and preferences are fulfilled, the better the horse will feel and the better he will perform,” added Gustafson. “There are positive benefits for both the horse and the owner.”

-Deep bedded 10X10 or 10X13 box stall 

-Premium grain 2X day if required

- 8 to12 hours small group turn-out or individual turn-out (additional $50)

Outdoor Turn-out Plus 

(available 6 months of the year)

$600 plus HST

 (Available 6 months of the year: March-April and August-October and January-February

includes :

-10X10 or 10X13 box stall during extreme weather events

-Grain 1X day 

-Unlimited high quality horse hay

-changing of blankets and fly masks 

-Large tack locker

-Use of the facility
